Riverside Resort · Satpura Tiger Reserve
An Earthen, Slow-Paced Resort by the Denwa
Our Story
On the bank of the Denwa in Pipariya, on the boundary of Satpura Tiger Reserve, The Rustik is an earthen, slow-paced resort in Pipariya in the lap of the Pachmarhi hills. Stone-walled Heritage Rooms by the riverbend, 2-storey teak Wooden Villas above the water, lawn-side Deluxe Cottages, and valley-facing Hill View suites add up to 8 cottage types in all, each built to put the forest, not the room, at the heart of your stay. Days are made for jeep safaris, naturalist-led river trails, kayaking on the Tawa reservoir, and lawn firepits; nights, for wood-fire Gond and Baiga plates, lantern-lit gazebo dinners, and a quiet herb-garden spa.
Riverbank lawns host intimate weddings, reunions, and offsites, with smaller groups slipping into the gazebos for celebration dinners. A long list of resort facilities keeps the days easy: a pool, a naturalist library, bonfire pits, and a safari-jeep fleet. Most guests drive in from Bhopal and Indore for a long weekend; couples for the quiet, families for the river, friends and bachelor groups for the firepits and the forest. Pachmarhi, both hill station and pilgrim town, folds easily into a longer stay. Plan from our location guide, browse the gallery, or get in touch to start the conversation.

An open-air pavilion between the cottages and the Denwa, framed by sal and mahua trees and lit at dusk by hurricane lanterns. Mughlai, Arabic, and slow-cooked Indian: biryanis off the dum, kebabs from the live grill, mezze plates.
8:00 AM to 10:00 PM · Full bar
An all-day garden cafe and bar on the lawn. Espresso and forest-honey toast at sunrise, wood-fired pizzas and cold-pressed juices through the afternoon, cocktails once the cicadas come out. The shortest distance between a hammock and a hot meal.

Before You Pack
A handful of the things guests ask most often before they arrive at our resort in Pipariya.
On the bank of the Denwa river, in Village Chhirrai near Pipariya, right on the boundary of Satpura Tiger Reserve. We're roughly a 4-hour drive from Bhopal, 8 hours from Indore, and a short climb away from the Pachmarhi hills.
8 cottage types across 24 rooms: stone-walled Heritage Rooms by the river, lawn-side Deluxe Cottages, 2-storey teak Wooden Villas raised above the Denwa, and valley-facing Hill View Cottages, Suites, and Deluxes. Pick by view, group size, or how close you want to be to the water.
Jeep, walking, canoe, and night safaris into Satpura Tiger Reserve; naturalist-led river trails along the Denwa; lawn evenings around a firepit; wood-fire tribal meals at the gazebos; and a quiet herb-garden spa behind the cottages.
Yes, our Event Hall is a 3,000 sq. ft. pillarless venue with large windows, hosting up to 250 guests for weddings, engagements, birthdays, corporate offsites, and celebrations. Full catering, bar service, and on-site stay for the entire guest list.
October to April is the cool, dry window when tiger sightings peak and the river is at its calmest. Monsoon (July-September) draws guests from Maharashtra for the lush forest and full Denwa; Diwali brings families from Gujarat; late winters are popular with travellers from Uttar Pradesh and the bird-watching crowd.
